Delhi Police sends team to Jaipur
Wednesday, May 14, 2008 12:41 [IST]

New Delhi: Delhi Police today sent a team of its officers to Jaipur to ascertain whether the deadly blasts in the Pink City had any link with the serial explosions here in 2005.

Six officers of the Special Cell, the elite anti-terror wing of the city police, were rushed to the Rajasthan capital, a senior police official said.

"The team will visit the blast sites and interact with officers of Rajasthan Police to find out whether the incident has any link to the Diwali-eve blasts in two crowded markets in the national capital three years ago," he said.

"We are constantly in touch with Rajasthan Police," he said.

Asked whether the Special Cell will be helping their Rajasthan counterparts in the probe, the official said they have not been approached but did not mind providing any inputs.

Delhi Police has last year sent its team to Ajmer where a blast took place outside the dargah of Moinuddin Chisti.

Terrorists had last evening triggered eight blasts in crowded places in Jaipur, leaving at least 63 people dead.
