Two earthquakes jolt northern Philippines

Manila: Two moderate earthquakes hit northern Philippines early on Wednesday without causing any damage, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), said.

An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale was recorded at 05.48 am in Dinapigui town in Isabella province. The epicenter was 21 km northeast of Dinapigui, Phivolcs said.

Another earthquake measuring 4.2 was recorded earlier at 12.38 am with its epicenter traced at 102 km east of Cauayan in Isabella, it said.

Both the earthquakes were of tectonic origin, Phivolcs said.
