Wednesday, May 14, 2008 18:52 [IST]

Jaipur: Curfew was lifted from parts of Jaipur Wednesday evening as the city remained calm and no untoward incident was reported a day after seven bomb blasts killed at least 63 people here.

Police authorities had imposed curfew from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in areas under the jurisdiction of the police stations at Lal Kothi, Adarsh Nagar, Transport Nagar, Manak Chowk, Subhash Chowk, Ram Ganj, Galta Gate, Brahmapuri, Bhatta Basti, Kotwali, Nahargarh, Sanjay Circle, Jalu Pura and Sadar.

Inspector General of Rajasthan Police Pankaj Singh said earlier: "We have imposed curfew in the areas under 13 police stations to maintain law and order. During the curfew only those holding funerals for their loved ones who died in the blasts will be allowed to move about."
