Delhi Chief Secy visits Tihar jails

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Secretary Rakesh Mehta today visited the Tihar prison and reviewed the facilities there. Mehta was given a detailed presentation about the functioning of the jail, a Tihar jail spokesperson said.

He inspected the system of conducting interview between visitors and prisoners besides visiting various jails where he saw a model renovated ward, vocational training centres, high security ward and jail factory.

He also inaugurated vocational training ward and model renovated ward at Jail No. One, which has the facilities of playing indoor as well as outdoor games and library.

Mehta appreciated the efforts of jail administration in applying innovative techniques in managing the jails and reformative activities, Gupta said.
