Hyderabad: The police here on Thursday arrested a woman who was trying to travel to Kuwait on a fake passport.

The woman was arrested at the international airport at Shamshabad near here when she was about to board an aircraft to Kuwait. The police have also arrested a travel agent, who was sending her abroad on fake documents.

Bayamma, a native of West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh, had paid Rs.40,000 to the travel agent to arrange her a passport and other documents.

The personnel manning the security checking point found that the woman was travelling on a fake passport and alerted the immigration officials. She was later handed over to the police.

Following interrogation, the police arrested a travel agent Ahmed and are on the look out for two other people, who helped her obtain the fake passport.

The police said the woman was going to Kuwait to work as a maid servant.
