New Delhi: India's main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has conveyed its concerns about cross-border terrorism to visiting Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Maqdoom Amin Faheem, a party spokesman said here.

"Cross-border terrorism is the biggest hurdle in the peace process between India and Pakistan. We have conveyed our concerns about terrorism," Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told IANS Thursday, a day after BJP president Rajnath Singh met Faheem, who is currently on a private visit here.

Faheem's is the first visit by a senior PPP leader to India after a new civilian government was installed in Pakistan in March.

The serial blasts in Jaipur Tuesday that killed at least 61 people and left 216 injured also figured in the discussions.

"Investigation is currently on. The government has been talking about the involvement of 'foreign hand' in the blasts," Naqvi said when asked whether his party suspected the involvement of Pakistan-based terrorists in the Jaipur blasts.

The BJP has asked the government to take up strongly the issue of cross-border terrorism when External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee holds talks with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi May 21 in Islamabad.

Faheem, PPP senior vice-president and a close aide of slain Pakistani leader Benazir Bhutto, condemned the blasts and spoke about a joint strategy for fighting terrorism.

Faheem will also visit Jammu and Kashmir.
