Jaipur blasts: IPL teams, sponsors come to aid

Mumbai: The Indian Premier League (IPL) organisers today announced that a sum of Rs six crore will be donated by the eight teams and five sponsors of the Twenty20 event to the victims of the Jaipur blasts.

The eight IPL teams have decided to donate Rs 50 lakh each to the victims of the May 13 serial blasts in the pink city, IPL Chairman and Commissioner Lalit Modi announced here today.

The five sponsors of the multi-billion dollar tournament have also pledged $100,000 each (total Rs 2 crore), he said, adding a total of Rs six crore will be donated in all to the Rajasthan Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

As many as 64 people were killed and scored injured when serial blasts rocked the capital city.
