Nigerian held without travel papers in Chennai

Chennai: A Nigerian was detained on Saturday when he was moving suspiciously near a high security military cantonment here, police said.

On questioning, the foreigner identified himself as S. Mohammed and claimed that his travel papers were left behind at the Nigerian embassy in New Delhi.

His statement is being verified, police said.
