Bhopal: The Pradhan Mantri Rozgar Yojana has changed the lives of many unemployed youths, especially of those from small towns who do not have access to adequate credit facilities and knowledge to explore means to earn a livelihood.
Rahul Jain of Panna district in Madhya Pradesh is one such example.
The district industry centre under this government-run scheme has fulfilled the dream of Jain, who harboured the dream of becoming a businessman and aided him to start a readmade garments shop of his own , thus making him self-reliant.
Jain was gripped by the worry for his future soon after completing his education. In search of employment, Rahul landed up with the Pradhan Mantri Rozgar Yojanaand started his own readymade garments shop named "G-Nine" with the help of a loan of Rs one lakh which included subsidy worth Rs 7,500.
Now only a year after Rahul set up his shop, his sister's marriage was solemnised without any financial obstacles and he not only repaid the bank loan but has also renovated his old house and purchased a motorcycle apart from financing his younger brother's studies.
He has also employed a person at his shop and has become a well-known trader of readymade clothes.
