Three of family killed in fire

Barabanki (Uttar Pradesh): Three members of a family were killed and three injured when a fire broke out in a thatched house in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh, a police official said Saturday.

"The roof of the thatched house in Tanda village collapsed following the strong wind late Friday night. The roof caught fire from the earthen lamp lying on the ground," Superintendent of Police Praveen Kumar told IANS.

The injured have been taken to the local hospital, he said.
