Jammu: Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Chaman Lal Gupta said today that article 370 was the main cause of neglect most of the areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
"Jammu and Kashmir is facing neglect on most of the sectors of socio-economic development. This neglect due to imposition of article 370 in the state," Gupta told reporters here today.
"Constitutionally Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India, but communal considerations were still prevalent under the garb of article 370, which was promulgated for a temporary period of time," the leader said.
He said due to separate status the industrial base in the state could not develop and hard earned fiscal assistance from the poor Indian exchequer was misused.
