No b'day bash for world's oldest man in Jaipur
Monday, May 19, 2008 15:15 [IST]

Jaipur: The 139th birthday of Habib Mian, the world's oldest man, will be a low key-affair as the city-based grandpa has decided not celebrate the day to express his solidarity with the Jaipur serial blasts victims.

Mian, who turns 139 tomorrow, will not celebrate the day. "How can I celebrate the day when my city is mourning and scores of families lost their near and dear ones (in the serial blasts)," he said.

"I have never seen or heard such a barbaric incident in my nearly 14 decades of life," the grand old man, who entered the Limca Book of Records as the oldest man on the planet, told PTI.

"At this hour when the entire state is in a state of shock, I cannot celebrate my birthday," he said.
