US don't rule out military action against Iran
Monday, May 19, 2008 21:40 [IST]

Jerusalem: Leaders of the US House of Representatives aren't ruling out military action against Iran.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says a "full array of tactics are on the table" in efforts to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. House majority leader Steny Hoyer backed that at a news conference today with Pelosi in Jerusalem. Thirteen members of Congress are on a four-day visit to Israel.

Pelosi says she does not rule out Israeli-Syrian peace talks. She says that could help pull Syria away from Iranian influence. US President George W Bush told Israeli reporters last week that he s against the renewal of talks between Israel and Syria. Israel and the US charge Syria is backing extremist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.
