Tuesday, May 20, 2008 09:30 [IST]

Pachuca: Officials said a bus plunged off a remote canyon road in central Mexico, killing at least 24 people.

The Hidalgo state attorney general's office said at least 20 other people were injured yesterday afternoon in the accident on a highway between the Gulf port city of Tampico and the nation's capital.

Some of injured were helicoptered to the nearest hospital in the town of Pachuca, 120 kilometers away.
