Mumbai: Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani today hailed Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, saying he has a "bias" for action.
After receiving the Chitralekha Person of the year-2007 award at the hands of Modi this evening here, Ambani said in his speech, "I have seen Modi run Gujarat more efficiently than I run Reliance."
He also paid tribute to his parents on the occasion.
"I consider this award to be a tribute to my father. If I am to implement just what he had envisioned, Reliance has 50 years work to do," he said.
Earlier Narendra Modi said Mukesh was carrying on his father s legacy. However, he said in a lighter vein that "Dhirubhai courted controversies while Mukesh stays away from that."
Modi further said Reliance was playing a major role in transformation of the rural economy.
