Chandigarh: Voting for elections to over 11,000 gram panchayats in Punjab began today amidst tight security.

Nearly 1.5 crore voters are eligible to exercise their franchise in the elections.

Police personnel have been deployed in strength for peaceful conduct of the elections, sources said.
