Firozabad (UP): About 12 people, including some policemen and journalists, were injured today as Gujjar agitationists clashed with securitymen near Asafabad area.
Police baton charged a mob led by local Samajwadi Party leaders squatting on railway tracks.
The mob pelted stones as police tried to clear the track and indulged in arson, setting a police jeep and three motorcycles ablaze.
Superintendent of Police Vijay Shankar Singh said a roadways bus was also damaged. He said 20 people were arrested and the situation was under control.
The agitationists raised slogans in support of Gujjars in Rajasthan who have been agitating for a Scheduled Tribes status.
