Puducherry: Chief Minister N Rangasamy was among the hundreds of people in Puducherry who witnessed Kamal Hassan's magnum opus Dasavatharam here, which released across theatres countrywide yesterday.

The Chief Minister, who declared open a renovated theatre in the heart of the town viewed the movie for some time.

Viewers were unanimous in showering praise on Kamal Hassan for portraying 10 different roles with elan and said that the movie demonstrated his `unparalleled capabilities . They also paid rich compliments to director of the movie K S Ravikumar for his proficiency.

A 20-year-old man Venkataramani opined that the film has has brought to the fore the actor s unique talents.

Another youth Vignesh said it was a superb effort by Kamal Hassan while venkatramani expressed confidence that the actor director combine would make the movie another smash hit

The movie is being screened in the city and also in a theatre in the suburban area.

Police were deployed in strength in front of the theatre when the movie was released yesterday as the large turnout of viewers was uncontrollable.
