Rampur (Himachal Pradesh): Sixteen people, including five women, were killed and five injured when a bus they were travelling in fell into a 150-metre deep gorge in Himachal Pradesh's Shimla district Sunday morning.

The Himachal Road Transport Corporation bus fell into a gorge near Rampur town, 130 km from Shimla.

The bus was on its way to Rampur from Bashdi village. The conductor was among the dead, while the driver was injured.

The injured were referred to the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla, police officer Puran Chand told IANS.

He said most passengers were residents of Rampur and nearby areas.
