Malappuram (Kerala): Police in Kerala have arrested a man and seized 32.9 kg of marijuana valued at around Rs.660,000 from him, an official said.

Police said Andiyappan, 53, was arrested Sunday evening at Perinthalmanna, around 30 km from here, with two kg of marijuana. The rest of the banned substance was recovered from his house Monday.

"This is the largest seizure of ganja from the district in recent times," district police chief P. Vijayan told reporters here.

The seized substance is of "good quality" and had a street value of around Rs.20,000 per kg, police said.
