What’s in a name? A lot, as Ravi Pandit, an IT professional from Thane, would say. Pandit changed the spelling of his name from Ravi to Ravee after consulting a numerologist.
Pandit believed that his fate would change and his career would take a progressive leap following this step.
Pandit is only one among many who change the spelling of names in order to get good results in their effort to do better in their respective fileds and earn more. But they never think of changing the spelling of their names in the Devnagri script.
Numerologist Sanjay Jumaani, who practises the western method of numerology, however, said that one does not need to change the spelling in Devnagri.
“Now-a-days, everything is written in English. Your bank pass book, passport, signature — everything. There is no need to change the spelling in both western and vedic numerology.”
Numerologists, at the same time, say that changing spelling is not sufficient for good results, the stars the kundali (horoscope) must be strong as well.
Actor Vivek Oberoi had changed the spelling of his name to Viveak when he was in the limelight. But this did not help him in getting more success. After some time, he started spelling his name as Vivek again.
Vedic numerologist Bejan Daruwala said that the stars in the kundali are important for a change of fate.
“I have seen nothing perfect in life. Therefore, numerology sometimes may go wrong. If a beggar changes the spelling of his name, he cannot become rich. But, if the western and the Indian methods are combined, the result can go up by 20 per cent. However, unless stars are strong, nothing can happen.”
Pandit, despite his changed spelling, is facing a financial crisis now.
