Agra house vacated as floor heats up mysteriously
Wednesday, June 18, 2008 19:11 [IST]

Agra: Agra district authorities Wednesday got a house vacated in the city's Jagdishpura area after the residents found its floor mysteriously becoming hot.

The house, located in Lokendrapuri locality in Jagdishpura, belongs to Subhash Chandra.

His neighbours said the floor was so hot that it could not be touched.

On learning about the strange phenomenon, the district administration and the police officials rushed to the spot. A crowd gathered there.

The authorities called scientists to study the problem.

Residents have been offering prayers and worshipping the spot to ward off any "evil consequence".

Last year, a temple's pillar reportedly heated up. Later, it was found that the 'earth' wire from a nearby electricity pole was responsible for it.
