Sunday, June 22, 2008 19:44 [IST]

Noida: A Sai temple here that has introduced automation in preparing food for the thousands of devotees has won a quality certificate by an internationally approved body.

The ISO 9001: 2000 certification was awarded after observing the standard of quality in every field, transparency in accounts as well as hygiene in the food served to the devotees, temple officials said.

Said R.K. Sharma, secretary of the Shri Shirdi Sai Baba Spiritual and Charitable Trust: "We have introduced total automation in preparing food for more than 60,000 devotees on Thursdays and about 5,000 on other days.

"No manual work is done in the mess of the temple. The security system is excellent and the behaviour of the priest with the devotees has been marked excellent during random checking," Sharma said.
