Himachal Pradesh guv presents green awards

Shimla: There is a need to sensitise the common man on creating green and clean environment, Himachal Pradesh Governor V.S. Kokje has said.

He was speaking on the occasion of Ozone Green awards ceremony organised by the Ozone Group of Companies here Saturday night.

The governor appreciated the efforts of Ozone Group of Companies for instituting the awards for encouraging media reporting on environmental issues.

He presented awards to various print and electronic media houses working in the state.

The winner in the print media category was Hindustan Times, while the runners-up were The Pioneer and The Indian Express.

The winner in the electronic media category was Doordarshan Kendra, Shimla, and the runners-up were Zee Himachal and Zee News.

The winner in the audio category was the state department of information and public relations, while the runner-up was All-India Radio, Shimla.

A film on global warming was also screened on the occasion.
