Two gangsters killed in Mumbai
Thursday, June 26, 2008 21:36 [IST]

Mumbai: Two notorious gangsters were killed Thursday evening in a gunfight with a Mumbai Police team, an official said.

Sunil Bangera alias Puthran and Amar Shetty, alleged to be associated with the Ravi Poojari gang, were shot dead in Kandivli suburb of northwest Mumbai, he said.

According to police, they were involved in an attack on a builder in Bangalore three months ago.

Thursday morning, the two had created a ruckus outside a television company office in neighbouring Thane district, the official added.

A police inspector involved in the operation, Nitin Alaknore, was injured in the cross-firing and was admitted to the Bhagwati Hospital.
