Maoists kill 3 in Chhattisgarh
Monday, June 30, 2008 20:24 [IST]

Raipur: The cadres of the outlawed Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) Monday killed three senior members of a civil militia movement, Salwa Judum, in Chhattisgarh.

The bullet-ridden bodies, that also bore injury marks of sharp-edged weapons, were found from a forested area in state's southern restive Bijapur district, some 500 km south of capital Raipur.

Police said the deceased were kidnapped by the rebels last week.

All the three tribal males were the senior most cadres of the Salwa Judum, a controversial government supported movement launched in June 2005, to counter Maoist guerillas.
