Man shoots friend for not buying liquor

New Delhi: A 24-year-old man was arrested here Monday on murder charges after he fired a bullet into his friend's head who refused to buy more liquor for him, the police said.

Raja Ram, who has a criminal record, was arrested from near the railway tracks in east Delhi's Mandawali area where the killing took place late Sunday. The victim was identified as Sanjeev, 27.

Police said Raja Ram used to threaten Sanjeev. When they run out of liquor Sunday, he asked Sanjeev to buy more.

When Sanjeev refused, Raja Ram shot him dead with a pistol, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Delhi) Ajay Chowdhury said.
