Gandhi condemns Kabul attack
Monday, July 07, 2008 23:31 [IST]

New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi today condemned as "dastardly" the suicide bomb attack at the Indian embassy in Kabul, which left about 41 people killed and about 100 injured.

"Congress party condemns this attack in the strongest possible terms and reiterates its commitment to oppose such acts of terrorism and mindless violence," Gandhi said in a statement here.

She said she was shocked at the dastardly and brutal attack on the Indian mission in Kabul and sent her sincerest condolences to the families of those who have been killed and injured.

Gandhi also appealed to the government and the authorities in Kabul to provide necessary medical help, support and protection to the staff at the Indian mission in Kabul.
