New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee on Tuesday adjourned the house till 2 p.m. after opposition members repeatedly interrupted Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's speech during the debate on the trust vote sought by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
"You can continue (your interruption) after lunch," an exasperated Chatterjee exclaimed, adjourning the house at 12.57 p.m.
Parliament reaches its nadir: Somnath
Parliament had reached its nadir, an exasperated Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee said on Tuesday as opposition MPs repeatedly disrupted Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi's speech.
Gandhi's speech during the debate on the trust vote was continually interrupted, finally provoking Chatterjee to say: "The Parliament of India has reached the lowest position, its nadir."
