Pune: The 22-year-old call center employee, who was allegedly gangraped, is undergoing a psychiatric treatment at the government Sassoon hospital here, police said today.
According to an FIR filed by the victim's friend Hansraj, the girl, employed with IBM Daksh, was allegedly gangraped on the night of August 7 by 10 unidentified persons after being called out on the pretext of company work.
Police have not been able to record the victim s statement so far because of her state of shock, an investigating officer said today.
"There are many loose ends in the case which need to be tied up and the victim s statement was vital in the progress of the case", he added.
Meanwhile, the girl has been placed under the care of a psychiatrist in the hospital to speed up her recovery, police said.
The doctors at the hospital also carried out medical test on her which pointed to a sexual assault, they added.
