Monday, August 18, 2008 14:45 [IST]

Dubai: Three Indian workers were killed and four injured when a fire broke out in a house in the emirate of Ajman in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

While two workers were reportedly asphyxiated in the wooden kitchen of their two-room house Sunday afternoon, one was charred to death. Four people managed to escape after jumping out of the house, according to Ajman civil defence department head Abdullah Al Naemy.

According to published reports, 20 Indians lived in the house in the Ajman residential area but only seven were present at the time of the incident.
