A'bad blast: Suspected SIMI activist held

Indore: Police here has detained one suspected SIMI activist even as a Gujarat police team reached Madhya Pradesh to probe the Ahmedabad serial bomb blasts.

Top police sources said that tipped by Gujarat police, they detained the SIMI activist yesterday night following a tip off by the Gujarat police in connection with the blast case. He was being questioned, they said without disclosing his identity.

Nine persons were arrested by Gujarat police on August 16 for their alleged involvement in the Ahmedabad blasts and they have allegedly disclosed that explosives used in the blasts were sent from Madhya Pradesh.
