Five die as bus overturns in Uttar Pradesh

Rampur (Uttar Pradesh):Five people were killed and five others seriously injured when a bus overturned in Uttar Pradesh, the police said Tuesday.

The incident occurred on the Rampur-Kemri road, some 30 km from here late Monday evening.

The bus was carrying 60 percent more passengers than its capacity. The driver lost control over the vehicle and the bus fell into the field where rain water had accumulated.

Additional District Magistrate Srikant Mishra and Additional SP Prabal Pratap Singh supervised the rescue operations.

The injured were taken to hospital, where the condition of some was said to be critical.
