BANGALORE: The three-day BJP National Executive Meet would be held in Bangalore from September 12, Party President Rajnath Singh announced today.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the State Level Executive Committee meeting of the Karnataka unit here, Singh said the Central Office Bearers, who met in New Delhi yesterday, decided to hold the National Executive in Bangalore.
In his inaugural address at the meet, being held after BJP formed government on its own in Karnataka, Singh set party men the target of winning 25 Lok Sabha seats out of 28 in the coming general elections.
Praising Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa for his government's performance, he said "all are happy with the Yeddyurappa government's peformance. Steps taken by our party government are highly appreciable."
Singh virtually launched BJP poll campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and bypoll in seven assembly segments in Karnataka where some MLAs of opposition Congress and JDS quit their membership and joined the saffron party.
The poll results in Karnataka which gave mandate for BJP to rule has sent a message across the country, Singh said, describing the verdict as a "grand victory."
"I compliment the Karnataka leadership and their coordination which helped the party to come to power."
Exhorting partymen to brace up for the coming Lok Sabha elections, he said "people are accepting that in Lok Sabha polls, if any party can form the government it is BJP. This confidence has come in the common man. We should further bolster this confidence." Source : PTI
