Ex-LeT militant shot in Baramulla

Srinagar:  A former Lashkar-e Taiba militant was shot at and injured by ultras in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir today.

Jan Mohammad Wandroo alias "Jan Kandur", who had shunned the path of violence, was fired at by unidentified militants near his house at Muslim Peer in Sopore area, a police spokesman said.

Wandroo was hospitalised, he said, adding police have registered a case and started investigations to apprehend the culprits.

This is the second militancy-related incident in North Kashmir since yesterday. Noor Mohammad, 32,was shot dead by militants at Chati-Banday in Bandipora district yesterday.
