Rajib Gandhi's birth anniversary observed

BHOPAL: Former Prime Minister Late Rajiv Gandhi's birth anniversary was observed as "Sadbhawana Diwas" today across the state with people taking pledge for National Unity and Social amity.

At the governor's house, K K Singh, Secretary of the Governor administered oath to officials and employees on the occasion.

"On the occasion of Sadbhawana Diwas, employees pledged to rise above caste, community, region, religion and language and follow the path of non-violence resolving differences through mutual dialogue and Constitutional means", an official release said.

Law Officer C C Dwiwedi, Additional Secretary J N Malpani, Deputy Secretary S N Narula and other senior officials were present on the occasion. Madhya Pradesh Minister for Revenue Kamal Patel administered the oath to employees at Vidhyanchal Bhawan in the presence of Additional Home Secretary Vinod Chaudhary, Principal Secretary, Secretary, Departmental heads and large number of officials and employees who were present on the occasion.

At Indira Bhawan, the MPCC headquarters, PCC Chief Suresh Pachouri lead other party leaders in paying rich tributes to their late leader and pledged to follow his ideals and fulfil his dreams of united, secular and strong India.

Earlier, Pachouri flagged off a Sadbhawana Run rally in the presence of former hockey Captan Dhanraj Pillai and Ashok Dhyanchand and former Miss India Universe Amrita Thapar.
