Surprise raids on dhabad and hotels along NH-1

Sonepat: In a bid to check adulteration in foodstuffs, the officials of the Health Department carried out surprise raids on a number of dhabas and hotels along the National Highwy No-1 near Murthal about 10 km from here late in the evening and inspected the food items being served to the customers passing through the road.

According to official sources, the officials during the surprise checking, found various foodstuffs as sub-standard and are being served to the customers who halted in them for talking meals.

The officials, however failed to take the samples of sub- standard food stuffs but warned the owners of eating establishments that the authorities will take legal action if such sub-standard foodstuff were served to the customers in future.

The surprise checking of eating establishments caused a panic among the owners.
