BJP blames Congress for instability in Jharkhand
Saturday, August 23, 2008 17:58 [IST]
RAIPUR: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today blamed the Congress-led government at the Centre for the political instability in Jharkhand and demanded immediate assembly elections to end the upheaval there.

There are two deals currently happening in the country, Nuke and Jharkhand, and Congress is responsible for political instability in the state, BJP national spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters here.

On attempts by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) to form government, the senior BJP leader, also the party in-charge for Chhattisgarh elections, said "most corrupt practices were adopted to save the Manmohan government."

The corrupt practises also dealt a severe blow to Manmohan Singh's image he said indicating that making Shibu Soren Jharkhand Chief Minister was also part of the deal.

Replying to another question Prasad said BJP wanted immediate elections in Jharkhand and his party would form the government there.
