Cong won't interfere on separate SGPC : Amarinder
Tuesday, August 26, 2008 14:12 [IST]

Jalandhar: Former Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh, who had locked horn with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) during election of Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), today ruled out that his party would interfere on the issue of formation of separate SGPC in Haryana.

"Central leadership of party has already clarified that the Congress will not interfere on the issue of separate SGPC in Haryana, hence all party leaders in Punjab and Haryana are bound to follow the instructions of party high command", Singh told reporters here.

Commenting on the statement of Sikh leaders of Haryana that they were determined to form a separate SGPC, Amarinder said they were free to do what they want but as far as Congress was concerned, it would not interfere in such affairs.
