Tuesday, August 26, 2008 17:14 [IST]
New Delhi, Aug 26 (PTI) Petronet LNG Ltd, India s largest liquefied natural gas importer, may shut its Dahej import terminal in October to link new units that will double the terminal capacity.

"We need to take a four-to-five-day shutdown to hook up new facilities. It will happen in October but the dates are not yet fixed," a company source said.

The five million tonnes a year Dahej terminal may be shut in third week of October with 14 to 19 being talked as possible dates. "These are tentative dates and we are yet to fix a shutdown schedule," he said.

By the year-end, Dahej terminal capacity is to be doubled to 10 million tonnes.

The shutdown will link new storage tanks, pipelines and regassifiers to the existing facility.
