Raipur:BJP Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani today criticised the UPA government at the Centre saying it had failed to control terrorism and the current situation in Kashmir was like that of 1953.
Till 1953,and that too after the independence of India, anyone visiting the Vaishnodevi from India had to take permit, and it was the same for hoisting Tri-Colour of the country which was opposed by Dr Shyama Prasad Mookarjee, Advani told a function here.
The people are again facing a similar situation today as in one side tri-colour was hoisted by the agitators in Jammu and in opposition to that in Kashmir valley some people are moving with the Pakistani flag, he said.
Advani was addressing a gathering of women majority convention of the beneficiaries of the Rs 610 crore poverty eradication programme of the state BJP government.
On the terrorist front also the Congress-led UPA had failed to check that, the former Deputy Prime Minister said.
In the last four and half years, the UPA had failed to nab any person involved in terrorist activities, when during the NDA regime the person responsible for Parliament attack was given capital punishment, Advani said. Source : PTI
