Malda(WB): 6 killed, 2 injured in lightning strike

Malda(WB): Six persons, including four women were killed and two others suffered burn injuries after being struck by lightning in remote areas of Malda district, official sources said today.

At least three villagers of Narottampur and Khasmal under Ratua police station became the victims of the thunderbolt when they were working in the field yesterday.

Deaths were also reported from Manikchak and Gajole police stations, the sources said adding, the administration has announced compensation of rupees one lakh each for the family members of the victims.
