Morigaon: Two persons are feared killed even as 33 passengers were rescued when a minibus plunged into a deep pond in central Assam's Morigaon district this morning.

The minibus was carrying passengers from Kolmobai to Morigaon when it fell into the pond near Mikirbheta police station at around 8.30 am, District Superintendent of Police Madan Chetia told PTI.

The police and local people have so far rescued 33 persons. Two others, who were missing, are suspected to be trapped inside the vehicle, Chetia said.

Efforts were on to pull out the vehicle from the pond, he said.
