180 can bombs recovered in Bokaro
Thursday, August 28, 2008 21:52 [IST]
Ranchi: A huge cache of explosives was today recovered from a bunker in the naxal-infested Lugu Phari area in Bokaro district, police said here.

"A total of 180 can bombs were recovered in raids by a team of security personnel following a tip-off," Bokaro Superintendent of Police Priya Dubey said.

Two suspected Naxals identified as Araj Lal Manjhi and Vijay Mahto, were arrested by the team comprising state police and CRPF personnel, Dubey said, adding the two had criminal cases against them in the past.

The recovery of the explosives indicated the Maoist s plans to attack patrolling police parties in the area, he said.

The team also found cloths similar to that worn by Naxals and ten pieces of tarpaulins.
