Four killed in Baghdad rush-hour bombings

Baghdad: Two separate roadside bombs targeting police patrols in Baghdad killed four people and wounded 17,including women and children, during morning rush-hour today, police said.

In the first incident, an improvised explosive device detonated near Al-Kendi hospital in central Baghdad, killing a policeman and a civilian, police said.

Two women and two children were among the nine injured.

Another roadside bomb that also appeared to target security forces killed two civilians and wounded eight in Al-Harthiyah neighbourhood of the Iraqi capital, an official with the interior ministry said.
