Thursday, September 04, 2008 15:47 [IST]

Kendrapara (Orissa): Three days after a minor girl was allegedly gangraped in a remote village near here, police finally registered a case under public pressure yesterday.

The 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by three youths in a primary school compound at Naranapada village under Chandol police outpost, about 25 km from here on Sunday night.

Another youth, who was accompanying the girl when she was accosted by the gang, was forced to leave the spot.

Police were looking for the youth, who had gone into hiding ever since as well as the three attackers.
