President on two-day visit to Vidarbha Nagpur

NagpUR: President Pratibha Patil will arrive here tomorrow for a two-day visit to Vidarbha.

The President will be in town for a number of foundation stone laying ceremonies and flag off a new train from Amravati during her visit, an official release said.

Patil, to arrive by special aircraft at 1040 hours tomorrow, will be welcomed by Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir and Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, the release said.

Deshmukh will accompany Patil to Achalpur in Amravati district for the foundation stone laying ceremony of Finlay Mills, it added.

Patil will flag off a new train from Amravati on the Amravati-Mumbai route at about 1515 hours on September 7 and also lay the foundation stone for the new station building there, it said.

She will return to Delhi on the same day, the release added.
