Lenovo launches ThinkPad for SMBs in India

Mumbai: Leading computer manufacturer Lenovo today launched a new series of notebook computers from its ThinkPad stable for Small and Medium Business (SMBs).

The series includes three new notebooks -- ThinkPad SL 300,SL 400 and SL 500,along with unique software tools and new levels of service and support.

"The SMB segment is one of the fastest growing segments in India and we want to cash in on the opportunity with the ThinkPad SL series. The launch of ThinkPad is an integral part of Lenovo s overall strategy of getting closer to customers in India," Lenovo India Managing Director Amar Babu told reporters here.

The notebook also features WiFi, ethernet and optional Bluetooth technologies, Speakers, microphones and an optional webcam, which provide excellent support for internet voice and video conferencing.

A study reveals that Indian SMBs spent USD 6.6 billion on information technology in 2007-08,which is around 30 per cent of the total amount spend on IT in India. The SMB PC market is worth 3-million units.
