Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced an ex-gratia grant of Rs two lakh for the next of kin of the woman teacher, Raj Rani, who lost her life in the agitation by guest teachers in Rohtak yesterday.
In a statement issued here today, the chief minister described it as a very unfortunate incident which occured due to evil designs of some anti-social elements who, in the guise of teachers, resorted for firing indiscriminately.
Hooda said that he has always kept the teachers in high esteem and has given them a number of incentives. As some opponents were not able to digest the success of the government, they were trying to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the State.
Hooda cautioned the people against evil design of such elements and added that a magisterial enquity as been ordered and investigation by additional deputy commissioner, Rohtak would reveal the truth that whose bullet killed and injured teachers. Those found guilty would be dealt with sternly, he added. Source : PTI
