New Delhi: A teenaged boy, who fled from the scene after the BMW car he was allegedly driving hit two motorcyclists, was arrested in the national capital.
Utsav Bhasin (19) was on the wheels when his car allegedly hit the men on motorcycle in the early hours yesterday near Moolchand Flyover in south Delhi, a senior police official said. He was arrested from Kashmere Gate ISBT, he said.
Mrigank Srivastav and Anuj Singh, in their twenties, were on their motorcycle when the BMW, allegedly driven by Bhasin, hit them near Moolchand flyover in south Delhi at around 2:30 a.m. Yesterday. Srivastav, a TV channel employee, and Singh, a call centre worker, were rushed to AIIMS by policemen after being informed by an autorickshaw driver.
After hitting the young men, Utsav fled from the scene but had to abandon the vehicle as it developed technical problems. He broke open the window panes of the car, owned by an Bahadurgarh-based industrialist R K Bhasin, to escape as the vehicle got locked from inside, police quoted the autorickshaw driver who claimed to be an eyewitness to the incident.
Bhasin, who is presently in China on a business tour, owns Ms Golden Rolls Ltd. The car bears a VIP registration number from Haryana, the official said.
